Gas smell at cold start

When I start my car in the morning before work when I get on my car it smells like gas really bad and I see no fuel leaks but gas mileage is kinda getting bad was around 30ish on freeway now around 20-30 on freeway. Anyone had the same problem?

The problem you are having sounds exactly like what was happening in my bugeye, cold weather starts especially with the heater on made mine reek of gas. Subaru had a recall for this starting in 09, it was sent to all known owners of these model years, so if your not the original owner and did not receive a recall letter from SOA, try calling your local dealership.

But if your loosing 10mpg it might be something alot more serious than that and there is also another post on here under maintenance/warranty 02/03 wrx gas line recall

I had a problem like yours, took it to the dealership, they fixed it. Forgot what it was, but it was free because of a recall part.

Ill look for the invoice.

if you have an 02 or 03 it could be a gas line recall,

+1 for the gas line recall. I'm the 3rd owner of my 02 wrx and SOA spoke with my dealer and I got all the parts and repair covered under an old TSB/recall

+1 on this. or, if you have recently changed the fuel pump, check the gasket on the gas tank. but most likely the all-to-common injector leak.
