Front mount intercoolers?
I have the APS DR 650 on my STi. This is the exact same kit that can be black (it's an oil cooler, I swear). You may not want to jump for the front mount w/o a different turbo and other work. I have a stock turbo, header, up pipe, down pipe (catless), 3" cat back, intake, and UTEC. I have horrible lag in first & second gear. Hence the suggestion for an aftermarket turbo. This is a great kit, had almost no fitiment issues with it (had to make a few adjustments with a rubber mallet). Here are some pictures of it.

The issue of the FMIC will go on for ever. The reality is there are many factors which contibute to this as a good setup. I for example live an California and can say heat soke is a BIG problem durring the warmer months. A fmic may be a positive step towards a more stable power band. The up side is a good ECU tune will also minimize the effects of boost lag. On the street with stop and go traffic + a hot sun the FMIC sounds more and more like the next mod for me.
Btw, lets hear more info on the other FMIC kits available as well. Like it or not the FMIC is a solution to heat soke. When installed with proper mapping positive results in hot climate will result.
Bump for a good thread! =)

I have a MRT intercooler off my other WRX that was stolen, but it was put on from the guy I purchased the car from. Is there any place I can get info from on putting it on the car? Only reason being is that I am not sure if the battery was relocated to the trunk for looks of the engine bay or because of the intercooler piping, so i'm trying to figure that out.
The MRT intercoolers perform great though, and they are pretty beefy =)
