FMIC on WRC car??
Does anyone know what this FMIC is? I think it's a great idea to have the intercooler above the bumper behind that black grill piece like they have it. Is this a total custom job or something that is in porduction? It makes sense...a lot less piping, still great front mount flow, and doesnt hinder airflow to the radiator. Now I'm just wondering where I can get my hands on one

The FMIC on the WRC Impreza is up above the bumper, the engine is pushed further back toward the fire wall, and the intake is rotated 180 degrees. All of this costs much much cash. I've seen a prodrive FMIC and it looks like a bar and plate core (probably Spearco) and the radiator is actually down where most of us would put an FMIC. If you didn't know, the hood scoop on the WRC Impreza feeds the air cleaner directly , he hood vent is directly ducted to the FMIC, and the passenger side headlight feeds air to the STi oil cooler. Completely different setup and lots of work.

The STi oil cooler is expensive because it's rare. We all know about how supply and demand works right? Anyways, you can make your own oil cooler for around $200 and have it cool better than either the Greddy or STi units. Get a large B&M core from Summit, some ARP fittings and Earl's lines, then a thermostat. That's all you need.
