OK I have a 2003 with just under 6000 miles and I am researching for my first mods. I have heard alot about the cobb reflash but i also want to get the stage 3 prodrive upgrade. I am not sure if I should hold on the reflash untill I get the stage 3 or just get the stage one reflash for now.
1)How much for the stage 1 reflash.
2)Any one have feed back on the prodrive kit(is it worth 2400 or should i just get the stage 2)
3)Thoughts on any other mods (bov, intakes ect..)
Thanks guys

What are your goals for your car? What is your budget like? Do you care about voiding your warranty?
1) I believe the stage 1 reflash is $395, see www.cobbtuning.com
Cobb is coming out with the AccessPort ($555) in March, check it out, it eliminates the need for additional reflashes.
2) I have no idea, I haven't heard of anyone with the Prodrive kit, this may be because it is pricey. Just a guess anyways.
3) Only get a BOV if you want the cool sound, it doesn't really do anything for performance. You'll only need one if you're running a bigger turbo. General concensus is don't get an intake as it throws off the air flow sensor which screws up your ECU. It you're looking seems like you're mainly looking at power mods so the reflash/piggyback is probably the way to go. Also up and down pipes are good hp/$ ratio.
The most effective mod you can do is tires, the RE-92's basically suck, they're really not good in the wet or dry and the sidewall is flaccid at best.
You should probably give some thought to brake and suspension mods too.
and you should use the search.
There you have it, noob school.

i'd wouldn't bother with the Cobb reflash if you're thinking of going with another stage package later on. for starters, it's $300 down the drain unless you buy a spare ECU. second, a lot of companies won't reflash ECUs that have been worked on by others, with other reflash technologies. doesn't the prodrive kit include a reflash or other ECU alterations? you'd be better served to put the money towards an up-pipe and install.
just my $.02

3 more questions
1. What about a short throw. I was thinking about the cobb. Any others i should look at.
2. Can any one recommend tires.
3. ok I looked into the stage 1 reflash but i am still unsure of what exhaust to go with. I have looked at cobb, prodrive(and it is a little pricy), and Vishnu.
Thanks (Yes noob school is back In session.)

i would remove the intake siliencer to begin with. next i would get a up pipe and a down pipe ( Helix makes some really good products) and then get a reflash. as for tires, i have S-03's, and im really happy w/ them rain or dry. these tires do cost a little more, but they stick like glue.
