Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

I have heard that the lightened pulleys arent balanced though and can cause problems....also wouldnt i want to let air move faster out first before i cram more air in

up-pipe is part of the exhaust. You would free up exhaust back pressure by getting an up-pipe.

You would see more gain out of a downpipe than an uppipe. However, downpipes are notmally more expensive and if you get a catless one you have to get a way of fixing the CEL. I say go w/ the downpipe first, then midpipe, cat back, then uppipe, then pulleys.

I'd avoid pulleys. Wait til later when you can afford a flywheel for a much better version of the same effect. Pulleys can have some negative effects, especially underdrive ones.

As for exhaust, it's always best to buy one complete turboback as a unit rather than piece together downpipe X and Midpipe Y and catback Z. Also, the faster spool of the uppipe cat being gone will probably make the car feel faster than changing just the downpipe, although top end gains are higher for the downpipe usually. Based on that, I would get the uppipe first.

I'd say Uppipe first. You will spool faster that way.
