A/F Meter not accurate?

I tried searching for this but didn't come up with anything...
I am looking into getting the autometer lunar series A/F meter and my friend told me that A/F meter's aren't very accurate unless you get a wide band O2 sensor which he said was really pricey...
is this true?

That is correct. The only accurate A/F meters are the ones that use a dedicated wideband 02 sensor that you mount in the exhaust. The cheap ones that tap off an existing narrowband sensor (for the WRX the rear 02) are worthless for providing useful information.

Save your self the money and buy something else. If you REALLY want one, spend the extra mula and get something that is actually functional.-Chris
