Exhaust questions!!!!
I have a few questions I need help with. I am looking to purchase the deal TXS is offering(DP+CAT PIPE+MIDPIPE!) My question, is the CAT PIPE is also called the RACE PIPE and replaces the catalytic conv. correct? Where does the O2 sensor plug into and will this trip a CEL if not done correct? Also the MIDPIPE is the piece that bolts to the muffler correct? I think this is a pretty decent deal for $727, since I want to keep the stock look but gain performance! Please someone help out a NOOB!!!!!!!!!!

You're going to want to reflash the ECU to see substantial gains in hp. I recommend the Cobb reflash, as the price is right. The TXS setup should have a spot to put your sensor as well as instructions on installing it correctly. Also, like I told you in your other post, a WRX muffler doesn't have the high flow capabilities like an aftermarket one, and will restrict air flow. I just bought the Apex'i N1 muffler, and I love it. A nice quiet purr when driving, and a mean snarl when accelerating. The last really restrictive piece of your air-flow (beside the manifold, which is really expensive) is the air intake. Look into one of those as well. Hope this helped...

race pipe has no cat, cat pipe has cat.
the 02sensor plug into the down pipe. if you do not use a mil eliminator, you will get a cat inefficiency cel.

Sorry, but incorrect. The ECU automatically compensates, so you're only running lean for a few miles until it adjusts. Also, the reflash will take care of the problem.

wow!!
Yea I am probably gonna go with the COBB REFLASH! Hell for only $399 you cant beat that! The thing is I dont know how the whole ECU map thing works? What do you do, send them a list of all your mods and they program it into the ECU? Then you should never have to mess with again untill you need to have it remapped again, correct? Oh yea and by the way I will probably just use a drop in filter and I have removed the silencer already! That was the first mod I did when I got my scooby, that and the 3/16 mod!

The problem with intakes that are larger in diameter than the stock piping is that they use the same air sensor, and the ECU has no way of knowing that it's bringing in more air because the diameter has changed, but it still sees the same amount of air going past it. The only safe way to do this is to either use a reflash designed for use with a specific intake (Cobb offers a few maps), or to use an intake that keeps the stock diameter. Neither does you much good because you're now sucking hot air out of the engine compartment instead of the wheel well, but some people do use them anyway.

First of all, you'd want to use a CAI that draws air from the fender well. If this is incorrect, then why do Subaru owners with MAP sensors and intakes have the same O2 readings regardless of any attempts to modify their A/F using piggyback fuel computers?
I got a cobb Stage 1 flash.. along with my flowmaster axle back and intake silencer removed
Pulls muchhhhh harder
feels like a new car, no joke. I would recommend the cobb tuning stage 1 to anyone, can't beat the price for over 30hp+ gain just from the reflash.
