I want to put an hks uppipe in my 03 WRX. I was wondering if anyone thinks this is a good choice in uppipe.

Also im looking to get an TurboXS rfl-T1 tb exhaust (including h/f cat) I should be able to pass emissions with this or am i wrong

 

nothing wrong with the hks uppipe

 

The TurboXS turboback is a good exhaust, I have it myself - sounds great and makes good power. I used to have the hiflow cat but swapped it out for the TXS race pipe. FYI the RFL Ti axleback will be very loud and have an angled look which you may or may not like. I have the standard TXS axleback which is not as loud and has a much stealthier look:

 

As far as smog - I have no idea what the smog laws are like in Louisiana.

 

so how loud is the turboXS tbe...is it obnoxiously loud or is it a pleasant loud.

also with hks uppipe and turboXS tbe would i need engine management. I thought the stock ecu could handle the adjustments but i just want to clarify.

 

02-03 wrx's do not need EM for uppipe/dp/catback.

But it's recommended to get the most power out of it.

 

Not to disagree with your turnwrx, but why do 02-03 not need EM for Up/TB upgrades?
