Exhaust question

hey i have an 05 impreza 2.5 rs wagon, and i was wondering if cat-back exhaust systems for an STi or WRX will fit on my wagon. any info is greatly appreciated. I want an N1 style exhaust. Also i was wondering if the exhaust on my car will have the same rumble that STi's have?

Thanks,

Fit is not the only issue. Forgive me for not knowing - is your RS NA or turbo? It makes a difference for an exhaust system - but maybe not for only cat-back

it's N/A. I plan on either boosting my RS, or swapping it out for an STi motor... either way, it's soon to be boosted...

don't boost 2.5 RS's unless you want to buy a new engine, or save yourself the headache and just buy an ej20 or ej25.

You will be better off buying a generic muffler N1 style and having a muffler shop weld it up for you. To buy a full catbak for extremely minimal gains on your NA motor is not worth the $400-500.

Your car will also not sound like a WRX/STi. The "boxer rumble" is caused by the unequal length headers. Your car has equal length headers, no rumble.
