ERZ downpipe, possible problem? downpipe experts please see picture!

Hey guys, I just bought this used ERZ for a pretty good deal. Although after taking a few more looks at it after I got it, I'm beginning to have some doubts of about this particular downpipe. below is a picture of it. If you notice there is a gap between the where it bolts and the piping, experts of dp's do you think this is normal or there is a construction issue? any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Uhm, the ERZ dp's are only $130, new. It's possibly the cheapest dp on the market. I would've bought new (actually I did the end of last year and I haven't had any problems yet).

Oh, and P.S. You should be able to weld that back up!

I'm a self proclaimed down-pipe expert but it looks to me like that thing warped. You could fix it but I'd just buy a new one personally.

It looks as if the cut on the flange is a little oversized. Nothing to worry about. I've seen this before, and it should not be problem. Make sure the integrity of the weld is OK (no leaks), and check to make sure the flange is planar (not warped). Do this by running the flat edge of a ruler over the surface and check for gaps. No big gaps and good weld means you are OK.
