Engine Misfire HELP!!!!
Engine Misfire HELP!!!!
Hi.... arghhh.... Im having so many problems with my car that I should have all white hairs by now (such a long and ridiculous story). Just curious if anyone knows what the problem might be.
i got a CEL p0301 and p0302. Misfires in cylinders 1 and 2. any suggestions?
plugs? injectors? big problem? little problem?
have no warranty..... dont ask.
car is a
2002 subaru impreza wrx
up pipe
dp
cat back
k&n filter
Accessport
with all the problems i had up till now, wondering if its possible to swap out my engine with the least amount of work. i dont want JDM cuz of price, so i was thinkin of the 04 STI ej25 w/ tranny. I know i need a new driveshaft with this but what else? couldnt find much else on here.

How many miles does your car have on it ?
For now drive your car conservitive until you get the plugs changed. That is my suggestion for now. It sounds like your plugs are fouled and need to be replaced.

was this a one time missfire or does it happen all the time. If so does it happen when you drive the car hard or at idel. I run a access port and every once and a while i will through a missfire like that, but not all the time. How many miles do you have on your car and when was the last time you changed your plugs? If you can answer those questions ill ask the guys at the shop if they have heard of that happening with the AP before. You can email me if you have anymore questions at Ryan@finelineimports.net
The plugs are located, since it is a horizontally opposed engine, the spark plugs are on the sides of the engine.
So that requires moving the wash bottle, air intake box, and a bunch of other things. I would suggest having them professionally installed if you are not completely mechanically inclined
Also a great site to get the spark plugs is http://fastwrx.com/denirsparplu.html

Here's another spark plug install guide: http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=511
the NGK part number is BKR7E for coppers. They give the best spark, but have a replacement interval of 15-20k miles. you'll know they need changing when you start throwing misfire codes again.

I have AP and I have had missfires multiple times (month apart or so) at Idle in all 4 cyl. IS there something to this? I have changed plugs and still the same thing. It is driving me nuts!!
