While installing my turbo xs up-pipe I noticed a small oil leak coming from a small cresent moon shaped seal located on the gasket seam between the head and what I'm guessing is the valve cover. While touching it (felt very rubbery) I accidently poked through into the head. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT and how screwed am I? I immeadiatly stopped my install and posted this thread. It's about 11:40 pacific time and I need to know if I should talk to A delarship or shoot myself. I'm hesitant to put the car back together and could really use some advice. Now

It is a seal, you are not the first one to damage this during an uppipe install. A while back on NASIOC there were a couple of people who did the same thing. I tried to find the thread(s) for you but no luck, you can try searching there using various keywords and maybe get lucky although it was probably over a year ago and may be archived or gone.
The valve cover has to come off to retrieve it and either put it back in place or replace it if it got damaged.

Indeed It was just A low pressure seal. I went into panic mode when I popped it through but just popped the valve cover slightly, grabbed it and reapplied with some super black rtv. Other than that and some minor heat shield problems the pipe went in and works like a champ.
