Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Where would i find one to do a rebuild?
Short block, or actual engine block is ok...

Thanks

What year? To be correct, EJ20T means nothing more than a turbo EJ20 and there are lots of different types.

Oh ok. If you area looking for a short block assy, then you are limited. I would check with guys from www.licmotorsports.com and gruppe-s.com. Or you can buy a new one from the dealerer. I think they go for about $1300.

I, personally, wouldn't waste my time on any USDM 2.0 for any re-build when you could get a 2.5 or a JDM 2.0

Ok... Uncle Scotty.
But where would one find a 2.5 or JDM 2.0?

I am planning on doing this myself (although i have never taken apart a new car, I have plenty of experience with Engine/Car rebuilds in the muscle car era cars...)

Since i was planning on doing this myself, I was thinking that with a USDM ej20t would bolt right up... However, if a 2.5 bolts up directly, that would be great too...

And i was looking for a JDM 2.0, but the person I spoke with said i would need a different wiring harness, and many other parts that would not be available on my USDM short block.

More Tips?

or.......... there are many ej20 engines online, but they are old... (some 95, etc...)
all JDM. Could i strip all the parts off the block older block, and bolt up the block on to my newer 2002 ej20t parts?

i am looking at things like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUBAR...27480874QQrdZ1

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUBAR...27227034QQrdZ1

(the last one is a Twin Turbo, but since i would be taking off all the parts... Would the block still work?)

Thanks for all your help guys. I would really love to get my Suby back on the road!
