downpipe question..

i know that having a bellmouth design is a good thing.. but i was wondering how much power is really being lost with an HKS downpipe... the reason is, is that i am most likely going to get an HKS uppipe, and downpipe for only 250 brand new... and if the downpipe is not that great then im not going to get it.. i am shocked to find out that i can get these for so cheap.. but i was wondering if a big difference in power is being made coming from an HKS downpipe, to a bellmouth design...

if your going to get a HKS downpipe, you might as well just gut your stocker, it would be the same thing....

the HKS is cheap because it sucks....(i know, not very helpful)...

go bellmouth or divorced....

put 2 straws in your mouth, blow.... = divorced

put 2 straws in your mouth, place hand over one of them, blow... = HKS downpipe

for a little less $$$...TurboXS makes good stuff....

I just bout a gutted stock uppipe off ebay and then went with a helix catted dp because of the nice bellmouth. Dont go hks, they make great products but their downpipe is not one of them.

If you want a cheap yet functional polished stainless steel bellmouth dp you may want to look into the ERZ catless bellmouth dp. I bought mine new off of ebay for about $130 ($180 shipped) and am happy with it thus far. Had alittle difficulty installing it (you can find my experience with it in the reviews section on this site) but it has treated me well. Hope this info helps!

i dont agree i think the HKS is fine

if it was that big of a deal subaru would have done the same

the flapper angles towards the hole.

when closed ie on boost the exhaust goes strait through down teh pipe

for the record: im not saying the HKS is better i just said its fine

if you buy the hks, ive heared of people going to a local muffler shop and making it into a twin dump like a bosal downpipe for cheap. but otherwise the hks does suck, i suggest you dont get it. my 2 cents
