so installed a downpipe on my car last saturday and it was getting late so i skipped the cell fixture. i bought the helix downpipe from gruppe-s so they included the cell fixture for me.
i'm just wondering what the best way to install it is. a few people have said that soldering it is the way to go, but i have a feeling ill need to take it off for emissions testing so could i just use wire connectors or just twist the ends together like speaker wires and cover them with electrical tape?
thanks

Soldering will give you the best connection, but wire connectors will be the most convenient when its time for a smog check. I used some standard wire connectors so that I can unplug the cel fix whenever I want to. I covered the whole thing with electrical tape as well to keep the wires from chaffing and shorting out.

Most likely they wouldn't even notice that the wires were cut. To be on the safe side cover the connectors with electrical tape before you take it in to be smogged. Yeah, the connectors only cost a few dollars from radio shack or most hardware stores.

Here's the thread that helped me the most.

This is the home made version. I don't know which manufacturer makes one to sell, but this one only costs 4-6 dollars. Very easy to make, well worth the time and money in my opinion. Plus you can leave it screwed into your aftermarket dp permanently and you don't haveto worry about messing with wires, shorts, or if you're going to pass smog or not. I've been running completely catless (and no type of reflash or em) and have not had a check engine light come on yet.
