Downpipe Brackets
Downpipe Brackets
I just installed an Invidia dp and I couldnt align the tranny bracket or the rear bracket well enough to bolt them up. The pipe lined up just fine to the turbo and catback...no leaks. The real problem is that the brackets are rattling quite badly...would it be ok to just cut them off? Thanks in advance.

they should line up fine.. I just installed mine about 3 weeks ago and it was a ***** at first but then it all lined up.. they key is the rear middle bracket that uses the funny clamp and bolt... you have to force it into the right spot (make sure your on the correct side when you bolt the d/p to the turbo or it'll never go and then screw it in tight to hold it in place.. once I did this the transmission bracket lined up nicely...
It is also possible that you got an old version of the invidia dp and those were known to have fitment issues... if this is the case you may want to contact the company you bought it from and find out wich version you got.. if it's an old one maybe they'll exchange it otherwise get the rear one on some how and cut off the transmission bracket from the pipe.

My Invidia only came with the rear bracket welded on-- that doesn't line up. It is the second version of the DP, but it seems to be pretty secure without the bracket. The bracket teiva-boy is talking about is on the car, which the rear dp bracket bolts to. If you take this off you won't have to cut off the rear bracket... As for the front... Well you better go get your hack-saw.
