They do but it may not be as simple as that. Also some have complained about loss of low end torque after "slapping on" a big (3in) turboback like TurboXS's system.
It seems you must have engine management to get the most out of whatever you do.
If you plan on big power gains (>300hp at the crank) go with a 3in system like TurboXS
For less than 300crank hp go with a Scooby Sport like system.
Also, the Scooby Sport will probably always give you better lower end torque (where our engines act like NA engines before boost).
You need to decide what you want and how far you want to go.
A good start is an uppipe. Doesn't seem you need a new ECU to maxamize the gains out of that part.

i have heard though...that you do need back pressure and that you will lose torque, which wrx's definitely need to try to make up for the turbo lag. then again if you are dragging lag isn't an issue...but if its your daily driver, the bottom of second is pretty weak and with my wrx, you ahve to be going really slow to downshift to first, so your call. i could also be totally wrong but that is what i have heard!

I have a friend who has a 2.5 stromung turboback and it make made torque but mine has way more in upper rpm range. His car almost feels like its struggling to rev up high. His pulls like a tractordown low though. I just love reving the crap out of my car, that's why I buy imports and not 5.0.
