Well, it seems to me that there are a number of possibilities.

1. The boost level is fluctuating. If this were true, I would expected to read about it on this and other boards and/or feel (seat of pants)/hear (turbo whine or rpm fluctuations /see (tach fluctuations) the fluctuations.

2. The boost is steady, but there is an aberration in the way the vacuum is transmitted down the vacuum hose. That is to say, the change in pressure does not progress linearly, but instead has something like a wave form that it follows, or there is a rebound effect, or the hose deforms or some other abnormality.

3. The sensor is just too sensitive and detects minute changes that exist, but do not impact performance.

4. I have screwed up the installation.

I'm trying to get input from others, in order to rule out as many of the possibilities as possible (or have someone suggest a fix)

Blue, yours posted while I was responding to the one befroe yours. Mine did not come with a restrictor. I am trying to find a restrictor for a 1/8" ID vacuum line. No luck so far, but it is my next best hope for a fix. How much does your gauge fluctuate?

If you are using an aftermarket BOV you will see more fluctuations in boost especially if it is the " push /pull " types.

Use the factory BOV to minimize it from being erratic

which T? All of the ones I obtained were from either Autozone or Home Depot. Omori makes a T that fits in a 1/4" line and has a 1/8" leg.

It was a 1/4" x 1/4" x 1/4" from Autozone or Discount Auto Parts. It was a standard T with three barbed ends. I don't know what fitting comes with the autometer boost gauge. The 1/4" to 1/8" reducer had barbed ends also.

I think we're talking about two different things, here. The T fitting I used is one piece. Each leg has "barbs" on it to secure the hose.

The 1/4 to 1/8 inch piece is the reducer. Both ends are barbed.
