conventional vs synthetic oil consumption
conventional vs synthetic oil consumption
does anybody know if synthetic burns more oil versus conventional (or vice versa?)
or is it just about the same? thanks.

I used to use conventional before I switched to synthetic, and synthetic does help, but the nature of the beast (turbocharged motors) consume oil. The high temperatures of the turbo and everything add up to oil consumtion. Be sure to watch your oil levels when you don't change your oil for 6,000 + miles.

I generally don't worry since I change my oil every 3k w/ mobil 1 and generally synthetic is less prone to thermal breakdown. Of course, most people don't change it as frequently as I do when on synthetic, so you should definetely check it weekly.
