Clutch maybe?
so when i am exiting off the free way or when i get up to about 3k rpm
and let off the gas while still in gear i get a grinding noise and it goes away when i am back down to about 2500 rpm.
I do not have any grinding when shifting in all gears, {5 speed}
and i have no slipping of the clutch. any suggestions?
thanks.

Can you define the grind? Possibly record the sound. is it a grind with a whining noise? Does it make anything vibrate? That could be wheel bearings, coul be a busted boot on halfshaft. Could be throwout bearing... Could be a coming from motor. Might have spun a bearing which will get louder and louder. So many noises. Could be something totally simple. Let's hear it.
