Did anyone elses check engine light come on when installing an hks downpipe?

 

Yeah, do a search, you have what is commonly referred to as p0420 "rear cat inefeciancy".
Any time you remove your cats you will get this unless you do one of the cel fixes.
Also you should look into a different downpipe. The hks is probably the most poorly designed aftermarket DP for a subie.

 

Yea, i know. Im going to get a helix when i get the money. I also have a gt spec gen. 2 exhaust manifold with the up pipe . Will that be a good adition you think.

 

My exhaust makes a weird sound too now. Is that normal?

 

Nope, spend your money on somthing else. Uppipe is a good chois though.

The $ to hp ratio for the header isn't too hood. It won't do much for performance til you have a ton of other mods, and will actually reduce some low end torque in exchange fow a couple hp up top.

 

well im getting a gt spec gen.2 headers and up pipe for 300...

 

I saw that new dp and exh that Vishnu just came out with. Pretty sweet deisgn and good 36hp gain on the dyno even though it may cost more.
