Clean out the carbon from the intake manifold. Buy a carbon busting product and clean behind the throttle plate, inside the idle control valve, pcv valve and any where else you can reach. I have also heard of possible ground issues causing this code. Check you engine grounds and wire harness grounds.

I had different CEL, but same problem. It ended up being the Idle Control Valve on top of the throttle body. Expensive part ~ $300, but fixed the problem and CEL immediately. I got mine from Mastro Subaru (http://mastrowrx.com) Some people have had luck cleaning theirs, but that didn't work for me. Part 22650 in the attachment.
