car won't start please help!

Ok so I drive an 02 Wrx with a lot of sti parts the only important ones that I think are applicable are alternator, starter, ignition. So this afternoon I went to the store my car was running perfectly. Then when I got back out to my car I got in and turned the key and nothing. Nothing at all. The interior lighting and sash lit up along with my Guage cluster above the dash with my battery voltage ect. When I turn the key that 4th click everything goes dim and the voltage Guage drops to zero. I managed to bump start and get home and that's about it. I checked the voltage to my starter solenoid and it is at 12 volts. My battery is not dead. Any suggestions?

You need to load test the battery. My guess is that the battery is bad if your voltage drops to zero when trying to crank.

+1 a load test or voltage drop test will show how much power is being drawn from battery. u can still have 12v and no start. GL!

how so? internally or externlly? did the brushes somehow come loose and jam up inside/ im kind of curious as to how a starter would jam up. unless. you simply mean it wasnt bolted to spec and was wiggling loose enough to put pressure on the ring gear, obviously in turn not allowing the starter to function....

Starters are known to start sticking/jamming up after some age. Although its not common for subaru starters to fail its a easy way to test. While someone is cranking the car, take a Hammer and an extension and tap on the starter solenoid. If the car starta to crank over then you'll need a new start.
