Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

14 psi give or take. And this should be in the factory turbo forum, so *pow* here it is.

I haven't heard, but with the extra displacement, I imagine it isn't much more than 15 psi.

Only thing is that PSI is not an indicator of performance. 14psi from one car is totally different from another car. Things like engine type, displacement, compression, turbo size etc all make up for different power levels.

The media spec for the WRX is 14.2PSI. But it seems to vary with which version of the ECU you have, how you drive, how you tuned the ECU with your right foot, where you live and how that place's temperature and altitude effect atmospheric conditions. I've head of anywhere from 11 PSI to 15PSI.

Very true. It's more like max boost x displacement x VE x width of powerband at high boost x tuning proficiency.

I've heard from several local owners that the factory boost setting is 14 psi from spool-up to around 5000rpm, at which point the ecu drops it to around 9 psi. Several friends have added aftermarket boost controllers, set them to match the factory 14psi but NOT to drop over 5000 rpm and have noticed big power increases. The reason for the factory drop as I've had it explained to me is the stock wastegate actuator cannot hold boost reliably at much over 9 psi in the high rpm range.

How much truth is there to this?

Talking

I'm not sure what rpm, but it cuts fuel around 130~140 mph.
