boost guage installed...

I just installed a Autometer boost/vacume guage.

To make the story short, it only reads my boost preasur and never goes down the vacume part... what i am wondering is should it read vacume and when...

Can the guage be broken? i sucked on the hose and it did read vacume but not when i hooked it up.

I hooked it to a factory hose with a but connector on it( i was told its where the dealer uses for diagnostics for the turbo)(sorry i have no pictures)

any help would be appriciated.

You have to connect the boost gauge to a direct manifold connection. It cannot be ported or otherwise restricted or the gauge will not be accurate. It sounds like you may have used the line between the boost controller and the wastegate which would result in the readings you are seeing.

Try using the hose off the blow off valve, thats what i use and i get pretty acurate readings.

thanks guys i will try the BOV hose... I could still use that hose even tho im usung a factory BOV?

Yes you can.

IIRC, that is where the factory boost gauge hooks up to.

I run mine...

...off of the intake manifold and get perfect readings, vac and boost, with the same boost gauge (Autometer vac/boost)

But either place should work fine...
