boost gauge wire length???

just bought with a used Omori boost gauge, but the wires were cut real short....like 4-5 inches from the gauge itself.

I'm thinking i just need 18-ga. wire, but not sure on the length.

How much wire will i need? And how long does the install take? I've read the directions on scoobymods...looks pretty straightforward.

TIA,
Ryan

Well, it depends on where your going to run the wires. If in doubt you can always run the wire from where you're going to hook it up from to the guage. It not usaully hard, just a little time consuming if you want to end up w/ a clean install.

cleanest setups always take time...

but if you are going to run it anywhere, you will need to splice a longer wire to whatever was left...

yeah thats what I was prolly gonna end up doing. I'm going to mount from the steering column and tap the power from the radio area, running the wire from the power to the gauge and cutting the excess and just splicing to the short end of the wire. I was just looking for an estimate on the length to save me some guess work, but i guess i'll find out soon enough.

If I remember correctly, my autometer gauge came with about 6 feet of wire between the sender and gauge. That's way more than I needed so to take up the slack I made a coil, twist-tied it and crammed it under the trim to the left of the clutch pedal. Very clean result and no cutting.

When I did the install I used about 3.5-4 feet of wire and ziptied everything to the closest wiring harness.

I am estimating on the high side so that you don't hate me when you get under there.
