boost ?

Hey guys I have a question. Just bought a used 02 wrx from a dealership w/ 28k. I dont really know that much about wrx's used to have a camaro. The car has an exhaust, rims, shifter, & k&n, I bought the car like that. I 'm not sure what stock boost is but it has a autometer boost guage and it goes to 15lbs. Is this right.
Also do chips help out a lot or will they destroy the engine

Stock boost is 14.3 psi. If your running 15psi there's probably a MBC hooked up or the gauge is inaccurate.

when does it hit 15psi? Even with the stock soleniod, you will see 15psi at 'some rpm, in 'some' gear. So yes, that could be right.

... and chips? there are no "chips" per say, but piggy-back computers, and other PnP engine management systems. And no, it's not going to "destroy" the engine, ... if properly tuned of course.
