Sure it's a true bolt on, though I'm also sure folks will make the suggestion on talking to your tuner, adding supporting mods...etc.

yes, atleast 565cc or bigger injectors, walbro 955 fp, bigger than stock tmic or fmic (stay stock looking imo) tbe and up pipe. you will need a boost control solenoid for most tuning apps too. do it you will be very happy you did!!

OK! yea i know about all the supporting mods ive got tbe/up walbro fuel pump and a cobb ap (stage2) what i think ill do is get the ots 16g map then go and get it protuned to get that beast fully awakened. i was reading on some other forums and saw some people had issues with making the 16g line up with the uppipe (I believe) which was kind of odd also the turbo im looking at is the fp16g ported and ceramic coated from forcedperformance.com....although i would like to throw a Forced Performance TD05-68HTA on there i just need to read more on if those go good with the EJ20. THANKSABUNCH guys!!

NAHHH man no prob i just found the evo3-16g..... defiantly thinking thats the way to go i might get bigger fuel injectors b/c of the added pounds of boost this monster can crank out(wanna be able to deliver fuel to reach this turbos full potential). i also wonder if the cobb ots map will be ok for an evo3-16g and 650~700cc fuel injectors even though the ots cobb map is for the baby16 and 565cc fuel injectors. and then get a protune! if anyone can clear that up please feel free! DEF evo3 16g the way to go on the ej20 imo

if you run the ots map from cobb with any different mods other than what is listed, i would NOT go into boost AT ALL in hopes of saving your motor. use it to shoot to your tuner and try to keep it at that. I drove mine for about 120 miles before to make sure i had 0 problems going into tuning, still ended up with a prob or 2 but even 120 miles without boost on a new setup? very difficult for me not to hit boost or have fun. but it WILL be worth the soft driving. DO NOT BOOST WITH DIFFERENT PARTS FROM THE OTS map!! DO NOT BOOST WITH DIFFERENT PARTS FROM THE OTS map!! DO NOT BOOST WITH DIFFERENT PARTS FROM THE OTS map!! DO NOT BOOST WITH DIFFERENT PARTS FROM THE OTS map!! DO NOT BOOST WITH DIFFERENT PARTS FROM THE OTS map!! DO NOT BOOST WITH DIFFERENT PARTS FROM THE OTS map!!

You have to be very careful about this. After a long discussion with my tuner, he cited dozens of examples of TD05/TD06 (16G/18G/20G) "bolt on" turbos that would not line up with the up-pipe and required actual grinding of the engine block and multiple installs/removals in order to get them tight. The Mitsubishi motors these turbos are for are inline 4-cylinders and they mount them in the back near the firewall, so there are many differences in angle and rotation of the turbo vs. Subaru's longitudinal layout. He's seen differences in mounting angles as much as ten degrees. Getting a flex up-pipe helps, but you don't want it mounted so that the up-pipe or the turbo are under any kind of stress/strain, nor do you want the turbo any closer to cylinder 3 AT ALL if you can avoid it.

well i was speaking to GST and they said they haven't had a problem with the 16g... but then again every car is unique... also is there an ots map for a 16g turbo or is a tuning required... i mean i plan to get my car tuned anyways but is there an ots map for a 16g?
