black smoke from exhaust.........
ok......first...this is just a little smoke...the turbo is not dead and cooking
question.......smoke......even a little........is a bad sign isn't it?????
the car is going to the dealer to see if they can find enything wrong......we'll see if they come up with anything.
there are no mods done to the car.......it's still stock. it seemed to me about a month ago that the car lost power....but it always seems like a car loses power after you drive it for a while....you get used to it, ya know.
what would be making that smoke.......it's only when i get on the gas or if i downshift to merge or something like that.
any suggestions???? what could it be?????
thanks guys, riggs

as the topic states...............it's black
the dealer will have it friday to check it out.....the engine also seems to be running really rough.....when sitting at idle the car shakes and rattles a bit......almost like it's not firing cleanly on one of the cylinders. we'll see what happens.

Anyhow, black smoke is usually bad burn and fuel-filled emmissions. Lotsa carbon. Oil is bluish-white, coolant is white. Rich mix burns black... AFAIK.

p.s. Obviously you need to crank up the boost

that would make sense.......if the engine is running rough and there is black smoke bleching out the exhaust.....i'm guessing one of the cylinders isn't firing cleanly. that would also cause what seemed like a decrease in power and response in the engine. thanks for the help......we'll see what the dealer comes up with
