Which downpipe is better in your opinion helix or cusco.
And Why?

well.. lets first talk about the dp's

1st- they have two different fitments:
-cusco jdm
-majority of helix are usdm ( JDM size also from gruppe-s )

*the helix has a full 3inch as the cusco has a taper to 2.5

*so if you use a 2.5 -3 jdm exhaust, get a cusco because the splitter for the wg gases in the bellmouth

*if you use a common 3inch exhaust, the helix will do just fine..and is cheaper,

but the cusco has the splitter in the wg gases which is better... but I do not like how it tapers down to 2.5 since the majority of exhausts are approx 3inches

my vote to helix

I agree w/ sstinger77, don't get caught up w/ brand name differentiation and actually look at the application that's best for you. Most catbacks have 3" piping all the way through, so the Helix would be the most cost effective downpipe for these catbacks.

As far as cost to performance ratio I'd go for Helix. I have the helix and haven't tried the Cusco probably never will because I can't just toss money around like that. I would imagine the best person to know would be someone who has a heavily modified wrx who can really make use of the different mouth designs. my .02

I ask cause I already have the cusco and was going to buy a helix so as not to have to alter the next exhaust I get.

So if I was going to get a helix up pipe and helix down pipe, would I have to change my exhaust in anyway? I thought they would just bolt in? Oh btw, I have a catback 2 1/2 inch.

If you have a catback that means you're keeping your stock cat? So the dp will have to bolt on to the stock location, as will your catback. If you go turbo back, well that's different.
