Later you might want to make more horsepower but the mods you bought won't work on the new mods you want to get. Just my way of thinking. Doesn't mean I'm right it's just the way I would do it.

I agree completely... I like the idea that down the road I could upgrade the turbo and not say "gee I wish I had pad an extra $100 and got the better DP."

my rules for modding:
#1 if I'm going to do it I'm going to do it right
#2 if rule #1 is effected by cost then the mod isn't worth doing
#3 Power First Looks Second. I dont care if it looks like Sh*t if it goes like stink!
#4 Performance all round... not to heavy in any one area. Fix the vehicles flaws then improve the package as a whole.

Sounds good to me.

This car moding thing is going to last for 10 to 15 years. It seems best to me to have a long range plan. Piece by piece one at a time. From Glory to Glory.

This is totally untrue. A stealthback alone on my car let the turbo reach full boost 200 rpm quicker (in 3rd gear - and yes I have data logged it) and gave a noticeable difference in off-boost response. I can now pull away from a stop light without turning the a/c off every time. The only thing backpressure is good for is killing volumetric efficiency. The uppipe is also supposed to help the turbo spool quicker.

The cheapest uppipe with a flex joint is the factory one. Get a used one for 40 dollars and gut it. Even if you send it out to get jet-hot coated, you probably won't spend more than 100 total.
