Here are some better pic's of the TXS (not mine) to give you a better idea of how it looks. The thing I like about the DP is that the bellmouth tapers to 3" smoother than any other DP I've seen (no abrupt turns). Will that make a big difference? Probable not but IMO it is the best design out there but then again I'm no expert on exhaust flow. If you have the extra $ I'd suggest the TXS but if not most DP's like the Helix which IMO is the best DP for the $ will work great.

BTW, the upipe in the pic is an STI which I also have on my car and I'm very happy with it. Click on pic's for a better view.

good luck

I think most of the sound is from the catback and not the DP. Different DP's will let you hear the turbo and flutter more than others and I'm pretty sure the TXS will let you hear it more than all the others.

Are you going with a full TXS TBE? If so which one? The RFL is Real F'in Loud.

If you end up hearing a lot of flutter (I never did) shoot me a PM, there is an easy fix.

Here's a link that will help you find out if there is a dealer near you. If there isn't, shop around for the best price. http://www.turboxs.com/dealers.htm

Good luck and enjoy

Actually, you can bolt the catless catback adapter to the OE catback and he said he was planning on going catless. I called Z1 just to make sure and they said that it would work. If the CB adapter will bolt up to any aftermarket CB why wouldn't it bolt up to the OE pipes?

Your turbo has a wastegate door that opens when the ecu sees target boost. When the door opens it lets the exhaust gasses pass by the turbine which stops boost from building. When you upgrade the DP there is a lot less pressure behind the door and if the WG (wastegate) arm isn't adjusted like it should the door will not completely seal off. Since the door isn't completely sealed off you will hear a flutter sound (WG door flopping around a bit) which can be fixed by adjusting the length of the WG arm and the adjustment is very easy.

If anyone sees any holes in my explanation please speak up. I'm no expert on the subject.

It's good to have a boost gauge if you have to make an adjustment to the waste gate arm. If you adjust it too short you may experience boost spike and you might not notice it if you don't have a boost gauge. Don't let this scare you, I promise it's no big deal.

Here's a link to the procedure http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3654

BTW, Many of the aftermarket DP's out there cause this, not just the TXS DP.
