Talking Best BOV for a wrx?

What is the best blow-off valve, that really prolongs the turbo's life? I wanna keep the price down, though. I dont wanna go crazy, but I wanna have that cool sound everytime I shift. I just bought a 02 WRX, and I just wanna put good stuff in it.
Thanx!

Well, from what I've searched and had experience with is that the very best would be the stock one but if you just have to have that sound, the next best would be the ones that vent 50/50, meaning 50% venting back into the car and 50% to atmosphere, the GFB hybrid does this as well as 100% vent to atmosphere. I've had it and it doesn't cause the car to backfire as much as the 100% vent ones like HKS, Apex, etc as long as you have it set up as 50/50. The Greddy Type S I have now also can be set to 50/50 or 100% but I've only used it as 100% vent. Really just depends on the sound you want.

contrary to popular BOV marketing literature, an aftermarket BOV >WILL NOT< extend the life of your turbo. why? because you already HAVE one. an aftermarket BOV will only extend the life of your turbo if you don't already have on in your turbo set-up.

the only thing it MIGHT do is foul your spark plugs faster, burn your cat out faster, and make those black patches on the bottoms of your exhaust tips build up more frequently.

ralitek also sells te AVO intercooler water spray kit for about the same money. you tap your existing washer bottle (even in a wagon...and keep both washers working), or use a seperate one if you want lots more water...much better use of ~$250

no. its not nearly noud enough to hear unless its REALLY REALLY quiet and you're not going fast enough for wind/road noise to drown it out.

just roll down your window and go "PSHHHHT" really loud

so an aftermarket bov has no functional purpose whatsoever? Can it not let engine revs drop faster during upshift?
