The best BOV for the WRX

What is the best bov for the WRX? These are the ones that am thinking about getting: a Greddy Type S BOV, Blitz, HKS or TurboXS?

I drive a 04 WRX if that matters.

How long is a piece of string?

100% externally venting bovs on otherwise stock ECU's can cause rich running, backfires and poor idle.

Your better off with a dual vent bov like APS or the GFB Hybrid.

I have the Hybrid and works perfect.

true stock is the best by far. but then i have a hks. scary when you pull up to a eclipse or mr2. its freaken loud *** hell. then its annoying after awhile.

i have the hks blow off valve too. its nice to have but it does get annoying sometimes. my friends say that my car sounds like a bus.

FIRST POST EVAR....

I just got an 04 Silver WRX today and a BOV was a modification I was considering. After seeing some of the replies I'm going to hold off. I do love that PSHHHHT sound though.

I was planning to get a exhaust, up pipe and downpipe in the next few months or so before i get the BOV....

Up-pipe + Downpipe + exhaust + Boost Gauge + Boost Controller. = low 13's. Screw the BOV 'til then

HKS... I'm not sick of the sound (yet) but I'll tell ya'

there isn't a better "race deterrant" out there... many will ride along side... but when the HKS gives them a whistle, they usually ease off the throttle and fall back. kinda like racing without racing....hehehehe

I got the HKS BOV. it sounds like a trunk tho. I may consider sell it and put the stock back.

It was fun at the beginning. but after a while.... don't know. when peeps hear the Psssssssssssst sound, they love to hv a lilo race~

Stock is the best until you start doing the big mods... Then again I got a gread deal on a GFB Stealth from auwrx so I picked that up.

If you like the sound go for it.
I love it and never had the above mentioned problems as most Forge owners will atest to.

Stock

If your just looking for the sound, remove the silencer box located inside the passenger side fender. The sound is quite good, do a search for instructions. Others have done this.
