APS versus COBB TBE

Please give opinions on whether APS or COBB would be the better choice for a Turbo Back Exhaust. I would like to have a reputable shop do the work for me and in Austin Texas it is either MZM Performance (APS) or Subaru of Dallas (Cobb). Currently running a Stage 1 Accessport with no other upgrades on a 2002 WRX.
Thanks in advance for the advice....

I've been considering both also but I'm probably going w/ Cobb. I was going to go w/ APS because you can run w/out cats and add it later w/ out changing the whole downpipe but I decided to run cat full time and be friendlier to the environment and not deal w/ the cops out here, also I have a wagon and cats keep it quieter inside.

MZM does awesome work and tunes but they charge a premium. If you go there make sure you demand a ride in their Spec C SR55ed JDM STi. It's disgusting.

I have the APS TBE, the 3" version. It is surprisingly quiet at idle, and really meaty at WOT without ever getting Blitz loud. I am using the APS high-flow catalytic convertor, so no fireballs, smoke or bad smells. Any aftermarket exhaust you get will be louder than stock, but the APS 3" is closer to the quiet end of the spectrum vs. others I have heard.

I've never seen nor used the Cobb, but the APS is absolutely top-notch gear. I've had it for seven months and the stainless-steel finish is in perfect condition. One added bonus of the APS exhaust is that it mates up directly (unlike some bellmouth DPs) with many of the larger turbos, including APS models, FP Reds and the VF series.

I have the APS 3 inch as well and I love it. The sound is excellent. I am also running the high flow cat as well as a VF 34 turbo. The exhaust is very low at idle and at crusing speeds it is not annoying at all. The muffler looks great too. Very stock looking so it doesn't attract a lot of attention. Not sure about the COBB exhaust, but I am very happy with mine and think you will enjoy it as well.

personally i don't like the aps because there's all those pieces. more joints are more places for a leak to happen in the future.
