i hear so much about the Cobb Accessport. however, what, if any, are the major downsides to it? everyone raves about it, but does anyone know the long term effects of using it, say after 50K miles? 100k miles? how about gas mileage? any downsides that haven't really been brought up in the product's review?
i ask this cuz, if this is truly, no nonsense simple as they say upgrade, why didn't subaru have that setup for stock? whats the trade-off????
i'm not asking for in the case of a car with major/heavy mods, but just a stock/near stock setup with minimal work with a Stage I accessport setup...

I had it on my 02 for 40000 miles. Never had an issue, and it actually helped me get rid of some cel's I had. Really a great product. Gas mileage depends on your driving. mine stayed the same. But once you upgrade you will push the car a lot more, so you might get poorer mileage in beginning, but nothin drastic.

Uh ru-x, you got the right idea. A protune will give you more power AND safety. Listen to the self-proclaimed noob and you won't get the full story. There is another factor that plays a role in combustion. Hint: we have more of it here than they have over there, which is why their maps make our cars run lean. And if you're paranoid, buy a knock sensor and you'll be less likely to blow your motor under any circumstance.

knock soudns like a fast rattle. its easy to get confused with the turbo sound but it sounds like a BB is in a cylinder
