I dont' want to sound like an a-hole but just looking at the pics of the 3/16mod on Scoobymods.com speak a thousand words and wouldn't require directions. YOu pull out the stocker and replace with new inline coupling.

I just want to give the guys at boostkits a plug. I bought their 3/16 mod and must admit I am really impressed. I know I could of saved $8 and just bought it from my local hardware store but the printed instructions were worth it to me.
I checked out boostkits.com and they wanted $9.99 at their sale price. 3/16" mod at ScoobyMods.com, with easy-to-follow directions and pics. The 3/16" connector may be found at a variety of automotive outlets including NAPA, although a variety pack may have to be purchased. Try at your own risk - your results may vary.

I have heard mixed results about that mod. IE. High boost spikes. Are there many people with this mod?

Come on dude give this guy a break maybe hes a newbie and is trying to learn a bit and people like you trash talk and discourage people who have lesser knowledge. I do have to agree with you though the 3/16 mod is a bad one. Boost spike is bad. I did the same mod and had it on for about five minutes. My boost spiked past 1 bar and came back down to normal full boost soon after. As soon as I saw that, I took it off and returned it to stock. Besides the ECU will eventually learn it and correct it.

I had this mod in. Heard some negetave things about it. After that I put the stock one back in..... never really felt any difference. So might as well be safe than sorry. I'll just wait till I get tuned!.

Will.

From what Mike Shields says going 2X the size is way too much.

The trick is to not be so greedy. A change of 1.5 mm that you say is suggested is excessive. I would think a .2 or .3mm change would bring up the power without causing what is called hysterisis or a hunting of the boost values.
I went 0.2 mm larger with my Foresters restrictor and I haven't seen any spikes, it just seems to reach full boost quicker. Full text of mikes comments in the second link I posted above.
