A 2.5L will create more torque shock than a 2.2L will. Still, that's not enough of a reason to not get one.
It kind of is if you're worried about what the shock is going into...

Awesome advice ^
point 1: bad driving, as well as increased power levels, cause shocks which kill your transmission.
point 2: you should still get the motor that causes more shock, because i dont care about your decision and I like the 2.5L

Point 3: The hassle and expense of a stroker compared the ease of readily available, proven 2.5Ls. If you're going to post how much more significant the shock loading is from a 2.5L hybrid versus what he posted I want see your hard statistics. Please post the work to your calculations as well. You're naysaying because of a negligible difference that may or may not cause any problems for him to begin with. The more important issue would be what I posted in the 1st sentence. And even if the stroker lasts, he's just gonna have to rebuilt it again later due to wear and tear anyways. In the list of cons, your problem is somewhere near the bottom.

I ran 360whp and 350 torque for 2 years with many 12 second passes and teach days. The 04 5speed is great to me and is still in another car and running great today!

Do you just want your car runing? Buy a used 205 or fix yours or a 255. Want more power in the future? Get a 207 or 257. Buying 2.2's parts are hard to find and tuning can't be easy

For some reason some 04/05 ce with a really strong trany. My friend made 320 whp an has had his same 5spd! I've driven it and it feels solid. My 3rd gear broke, I pulled on first, second, and as I shifted to third I just heard a boom! Glad I got a 6spd now!

To the OP:
LOLVTEC is right. If your going to build the block, go for power. If not find a 2.0 with relatively low miles and get that.

Ya i think i might go with that that advice. I found a used 205 for a relatively good price and only 4000 more miles than my engine now. I think im going to pick that up my engine is ready to pull just needs the motor mounts off. Anyone know of a good link that will show me how to swap all me accesories over to the used bare block? The one im buying is just a bare block and i need to swap belts, pulleys and all that over from my blown engine. Thanks for all the replies, the 2.2 would be a fun car that for sure but if something had gone wrong in the future it would be a pain to fix.
