What do you want to accomplish with the car?

Both are good turbos but may not meet your needs/desires.

I have an 02 WRX and just did a VF34. I haven't got the tune yet, but I am happy with it.

I'd go with a td05 18g or a super16g

He's not going to get 300whp on a VF34 in an 02 WRX, as per his request in post#5.

However, the VF34 would be a great turbo for autox and HPDE.

I ran HPDE with my 02 WRX and VF30 (basically the same as a VF34) and I was very happy with the setup. It spools early which is great for around town too. I think my max hp on a Dyno Dynamics dyno was around 248whp. Even the race gas setups were only pushing 270whp.

dude that did the vf34....tune...now.

other guy...get a vf34 or a td05 18g. But know this....without 100 octane you're not gonna see 300whp with those turbos or without a good bit of work to other parts.

expect more like 270.

the deadbolt turbos are good stuff, just keep in mind that not all 16/18/20g turbos are created equal. Blousch is good as well.

I've seen both of those brands blow as well . I have a really hard time having any sort of confidence in any of the mitsu variants. It really seems to be a crap shoot with most of the g series turbos. The only turbos I've seen hold up consistently so far are the Green and Red. This doesn't mean that there aren't people out there running deadbolt, blouch and FP turbos for prolonged times with no issues... it just means that there are also many people who have had a lot of problems with them. If you're feeling lucky, go for it.

Thanks
