im taking "intro to auto tech" and "automotive powertrains". i have the same instructor for both classes and he said that we will get to work on our cars on lab days whenever we want, so that means that every tuesday and wednesday between 1 and 5pm i get to wrench on my car or one of the infinities or nissans that nissan donated to our school. only high 12's with a new turbo, fuel mods, tranny gears, tune and bottom end?????? i was under the impression that ide be huntin for 11's depending on the turbo and tune with all that done.

^Look at the mods and the Estimated 1/4 Mile time.
Alright, I have midterms to study for. If you have any questions, I'll be on tomorrow.
EDIT: ERRRR...forgot about tranny gears. I don't know how that would affect things. Sorry. Also since you'll have a bottom end, you might be able to turn up the boost a bit more and make some more power. So maybe low 12's are possible with soemthing like a VF 34. Maybe even mid-high 11's with a different turbo and a few more mods. Someone else care to chime in?

thanx, yeah if i had tranny gears and a new bottom end ide crank up the boost and have a suitable turbo as well, so ide be hopin for 11's if they were hittin 12.6 @108 on the stock bottom end and tranny.12.6 would last me awhile, vishnu isnt too far away from me, maybe i should give them a call.

Pick up a used modded WRX, like Annointed's WRX (too bad its all the way out here in NJ) for WELL under 18k. The STi short block is about $1800 give or take...an STi Ra gearset can hold low 12 second passes and is about $1400 give or take..obviously the USDM STi has some pieces that are stronger, but unless you're looking to go way past low 12's then you shouldn't need more then that.

Yeah, I forgot to take those things into account. You may want to get a UTEC so you can tune it and manage everything yourself. Yup, Vishnu has some good stuff, but they will not have everything you're looking for. Go to www.VishnuTuning.com and look at their stage packages.
