bro that's weak. don't ever dog the rex.. it was the staple of awd turbo flat four power and the predecessor to the sti...
if you don't have what it takes to build it right and get your 12's which is easy and possibly just hard on the wallet - yea sell the car. otherwise put about 8-10,000 grand in it and you'll have a sick rex doing 12's no problem on that stock block..

If you spend 8-10k on a WRX and are only running 12's you either need to learn to drive or kill yourself.

Well golly gee whiz i'm over 8 grand! and i do low 12's all day at bandimere located in morrison colorado which is over 6 thousand feet above sea level. let me send you a slip as well huh? trapin' over 100 (obviously), reactions against the other driver are coming out at .00x's and 60 foots are around 1.89
so i can drive and that's what it takes out here to get good power out of a wrx. you disagree still? - i don't give a damn and if you do hit me up if you're ever out here i'll take you for a ride down the track!
peace.

My point exactly. HAHAHAHA Not to mention that's a great set up but not exactly the best of for the strip. I'd have gone with an RA gear set, clutch, comparable turbo (more than likely an FP or a VF34 for drag), FMIC, TBE, injectors and pump and tune. Congrats 12's at about half that price.

Gruppe S sells the VF34, injectors and pump for less than $2000 on specials (or close at least)
TBE can be had for less than 1000
Tranny stuff for about 2000
Tuning + ECUTEK 1000

There you have it. This is essentially the same set up Ed has (Soggynoodles) and he is quicker than a stock STi which means he is probably in the 12s (based on stock STi numbers).

You either have to be 16yrs old or just a complete bone head to say something like: "I'm better (at anything) than 99% of you here!".

...lol...
You might as well of said:
"Hey all you complete strangers, I'm billy badass. I'm the best at everything. I'll prove it too, call me lets meet up and street race. Then lets fight! Did I mention I was fighter too? I'm better than 99% of all those lame UFC guys that compete! Matter 'O fact, I'm the strongest man in the world! That's right I don't compete, but I'm stronger than all he body builders in the world...put together! Yea, that's it." Oh and I'm the smartest too! I'm smarter than 99.999% of all the people on the planet earth..."

Anyone who says something like that has issues.

here is my question.........was this comment taken out of context? is he saying that he can drive better than 99% of people on the forum or in his area. i dont think there was clarification on that. although he never did correct his statement.

I was wondering how in the hell you broke the STi 6 speed after 97 miles then realized that you don't have a full STi drivetrain. I've only heard of one or two broken 6 speeds and one is the Big Valley STi putting out 700+WHP and after many many drag races with, it was 3rd gear that let go. Mainly people pop axles on the STi drivetrain.

seriously both Def and mikaust are trapping 120+ with greens. Damn altitude sucks the power away.

In his defense it takes more money to go fast in higher altitudes. A stock STi will do a 15 second 1/4 mile in Colorado.

Just upgrade to the Vishnu (Stage 2) - Seems they claim 12.6 with their upgrade package.

This will only set you back about $5G's

If you read the first post in the thread, the member is asking for specific parts needed to power a WRX into the 12-second range at the drags (at sea level ). Most tuner stage packages at this level of power contain the same VF30/34, STi 'pinks', Walbro pump, turboback, and tuning.

Also, pertaining to earlier posts, if King Monza wants to drag race his car, let's please refrain from making judgements about his choice. I've drag raced my WRX but I've also seen everything from Vipers, turbo diesel pickups, Volvos, and Hondas at the drag strip. None of these were designed for drag racing. It's what their owners want to do with their vehicles. Also, there are members who drag race and track their cars. It's their choice.
