Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Not only is it old, but you are completely wrong also

You cannot remove a working cat from your car period, even to replace it with another brand new OEM cat. *working* is the key word. You have to have documentation PROVING that you had a reason to change it, so swapping stock back to stock for smog is the only way. Your lack of research could cost you $3500 and if you have a shop do it (and hopefully know better than you), they can be fined $25K.

Look at your post, now back to mine, now back at your post, now back to mine. Sadly, your post isn't mine, but if you stopped being an idiot and switched to using you brain, your post could look like mine. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re on a boat with a laptop reading this thread. What’s in your hand, back at my post. I have it, there's an oyster within my post. Look again, the post is now diamonds.

Yes it did. According to the link (which goes directly to the California Department for Motor Vehicles) you can install an aftermarket catalytic converter if it meets regulations and is manufactured by one of the companies that has been granted exception to the regulation. I checked the list (which is in the link above) and there are 4 companies; Tenneco, Magnaflow, Catco, and CarTex. If you have a catalytic converter that is not Original Equipment or make by one of the aforementioned companies then it is illegal to have on your car.

Now please, stop being an idiot and spewing out incorrect information.
