02 WRX Turbo boost problem. help.
hi guys, i have just bought my 02 wrx wagen from some local dealer. and it have a used turbo on it, i can tell it is from junkyard with those yellow marks on it, and when i try to boost it, everytime it will only get .04 or .05 mPa = 7 PSI, that is both of my boost gauges reads, so is that my turbo did not adjust right or boost controler has problem? everything in my car is still stock. please let me know if you guys has any idea what makes the car only can run in 7 psi. thx.

if anything... take away threads.. so ya.. make the adjusting nut go closer to the waste gate actuator, and follow the nut with the actual attachment...
if this doesnt improve anything, go back to where it was.
so REMEMBER HOW MANY TURNS U TURN IT!!!!!

Should look like this at the turbo. The black ring on the hose coming to the T is the restrictor pill.

well, i just compared the picture and my car, the restrictor pill is still there and all hose hooked up, the electronic controler's wire connector is connected. so hmmm that part pretty much wasn't the problem there, what i am thinking is that possible cause by a old boost controler or carbon stuck inside the boost controler valve?

For the stock boost solenoid you have 2 lines going into it. The line coming off the turbo inlet goes into the side of the solenoid and the line coming from the turbo goes into the bottom of the solenoid, make sure those are hooked up right.

You got me stumped. Its a guess but maybe you have a vaccum leak or there isn't enough voltage going to the solenoid, you might have a crack in the intercooler hosing. Might be a vaccum leak going to the gauges. If you have a warrenty (might not since its an 02) take it in.
You could trying posting this on nabisco. They might be able to help more than I can.
Sorry I couldn't help you find the problem.
P.S. your missing your turbo heatsheild.
