vishnu

I've yet to see the vishnu chip first hand, but from what i've read, it appears to be a very impressive ecu upgrade when matched with the vishnu tuning package. Vishnu's wrx that was tested in last months sport compact was very impressive, and was the only car to prove competetive with the sti(although much of it's success can be acredited to the toyo proxis it was wearing). When you look at ecu upgrades, you need to keep in mind your level of knowledge. Are you comfortable, and knowledgable enough to tune your own car, or do you need help doing so? If you know what you're doing, and you want to be able to change your car according to the style of driving you do, then you want a user tunable ecu. The utec is great because it is simple enough that someone with a basic knowledge of engine function can tune their car without any major drawbacks, and can do so without paying somebody else a shop rate, or tuning rate. However if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, what you really ought to keep in mind is who is closest, and can give you the best costumer service. If you're like most "car goons" you're going to want more somewhere down the road, and your ecu will need to make changes to adapt with your future mods. Cobb can reflash your ecu to fit your mods, as can vishnu. From what i've experienced your best bet with ecu upgrades would be whoever you can rely on to get it right the way you like accordingly to how you drive, and where you drive. For me, the only person capable of doing this is myself. Personally i'd opt for the utec, or the AEM, but thats a whole other topic. Your car is going to be what you want, so do your homework, and find whoever can help you most. Just my two cents,
good luck!

It's all good as long as it makes that little subie go faster!

Besides, I thought this topic was about Vishnu Tunning, Oh wait I mean TUNING.

Turbo XS, Cobb, Vishnu, Billy Bobs Big Blowoff valves......they're all great, make you go fast, and yes void your warranty!

Turns out my reply above was for the folks arguing on the first page, sorry about that.

Regarding Vishnu, I just got the stage one kit with the signature exhaust installed. Very impressive change. The engine runs smoother, turbo spools quicker and it now generates around 220 to the wheels which equates to around 300 - 310 hp at the flywheel. The exhaust is extremely well made. The price is more than most of the systems, but they seem to be the most kowledgeable with regards to the ECU re-flash process. Visit their website: vishnutuning.com

220 at the wheels doesn't equal 300 at the flywheel, even on Vishnu's dyno.
