UTEC screwed my car up...

04 STi Utec

I recently upgraded my UTEC version from 1.0 to 2.3....then reloaded the previous maps and the stock base....now the car runs like crap...sputters and stutters till boost is reached...can't keep idle very well either and bogs during acceleration to boost

I removed the UTEC and it still runs like doodoo or the same as with the UTEC ........tried to reset the ECU by removing ground for over 20 minutes, but runs the same with or without the UTEC attached....please any help is greatly appreciated

PS-followed directions on upgrading version and reinstalling maps to the T......again any help is appreciated

reflashing the UTEC cannot mess up the ECU, period......

you need to use the old values out of your parameters files BUT use the new Parameter file. Otherwise stuff goes nutty.

What are your mods?

TBE that's pretty much it for mods that would affect tuning.........

I figured that flashing the UTEC wouldn't affect or is not supossed to affect the ECU....

so do you have to manually enter the old parameters to the new file?

also I just don't get why after flashing the UTEC the car didn't run well without the UTEC connected, prior to the UTEC installation the car was running fine

yes.

not sure on the second part. Unless one of the connectors wasn't plugged in well. You did disconnect the battery while removing UTEC correct?

if you were using the stock parameters then just download the parameters file for your 'stg' from www.turboxs.com & send it to the UTEC.

only if you were running different than original parameter would you have to put them in manually.
