Utec Maps
I was thinking we could make a thread that had maps in it..... utec only!
Also when posting please give short description of map, what was base map, what has beeen changed, what the outcome was. This will give us all a great frame of reference for tuning and to also see what other have come up with. I will try and post my maps tonight whne i transfer them from laptop to desktop......

This really doesn't work well. There are places on the Internet where UTEC (et al) tuners congregate and they hardly share there maps. This isn't because they're stingy, its because seasoned tuners know for the most part its useless... especially to an inexperienced tuner. Cobb and Vishnu (save for the XEDE) are reflashes... its safer and its less picky and its less tuneable. This is why off the shelf reflashes work well. The UTEC is dangerous, its not picky and its very, very tuneable. Its the closest thing I've ever seen to a full standalone ECU that's not really a standalone ECU.
With that said, a shared map with the SAME EXACT car setup down to the spark plugs just wont respond the same. Usually its the noobs who ask for this and when they realize it doesn't fulfill their dreams they get exasperated. Most shared maps will knock on your car. Yep, there, I said it.
What's better is to do this:
- Take a make that's at least geared for your injectors and turbo/boost levels ... a la a TXS basemap.
- remove 3 or 4 degrees of timing all over, or until all knock is gone
- check out the UTEC forum at www.wrxhackers.com, and also look for Mick's Unofficial UTEC Tuning Guide.
- tune timing, but conservatively
- check out my LogMapper utility at http://jyg.us/wrx/utec/logmap.html
- tune boost, watching for dangerous afrs
- tune afrs
- tune your timing, a little more agressively
now you've for a map for you YOUR CAR.
Lastly, its good to remeber there are many stupid people on the Internet with a setup like yours. I'm probably one of them... and you're asking ME for a map?
