UTEC swap in new WRX
I have a 2002 WRX with a UTEC and an up-pipe. I am trading the car in for a 2005 WRX. I am not taking the up-pipe off and I was wondering if anyone out there has just a UTEC installed and not an up-pipe. The only reason I got the up-pipe is because I was told that I should put an aftermarket up-pipe on because of the increased exhaust temps. I had it proffesionally installed by Godspeed (Detroit), and I am very happy with the results. My question to you is, does anyone have just the UTEC installed without an aftermarket up-pipe? I want to just install the UTEC into my new WRX and just use the same map. I know I may have to tweek the boost, but other than that, should I be worried. I don't want to have to spend another grand for an up-pipe and retuning. Anyone got an opinion.

Car Info: 2016 Acura RDX ... meh. Um, nice subwoofer?
No. There are UTEC basemaps that are meant for UTEC and otherwise bone stock setup. You will be fine... just at least watch your EGTs and AFRs. You can always add timing (yes I said add) or add fuel to lower EGTs.
