Turbo Timer
hey all.. I am a proud first time owner of a WRX and I had a few questions...I used to have a 1991 Eclipse trubo that I had all modified so I have most of the things needed for a turboed vehicle...however a friend of mine said that the WRX does not need a turbo timer and I was wondering if that was true...also I have a Super AFC that I was going to use with 550 injectors but this friend of mine also said that you have to chip these cars or they will detonate is this true as well?...thanks for your input..

Will the car blow up if you don't chip them. There are a lot of variables that could cause the engine to blow up that could be one of them.
A lot depends on what parts you install and how well you install them. Do some research and you will start seeing a trend of what works and what doesn't work.
As for injectors and the AFC, that is probably not going to do much for you except make your car slower over time, as you need to readjust the AFC almost constantly because the stock ECU will be doing the same thing. Besides bigger injectors for what reason? You really only need them once you start going above 250 whp.
Just some things to think about,
