which systems allow for in-car laptop tweaking???

I am building another carputer for my car and want to incorporate some sort of tweaking with the ecu from the cockpit. I know there are a few systems out there with which you can just plug into a laptop and monitor stuff and tweak with stuff. Has anyone had any experience with that and if so, how has it been. I figure I will wire it into my laptop at first to see how it works out. I preferably want USB but if not then I will have to figure something out to convert.

Any suggestions.

If you want to "monitor and tweak with stuff" then an EcuTek reflash and a copy of DeltaDash is just what the doctor ordered. If you want total control over your ecu, then you need to step up to any of the following:

Xede
Utec
TecII/Tec3
Hydra EMS
Link
Motec
Haltech

and several others I probably missed.
