I removed the snorkus last weekend on my 03 WRX, but was curious about replacement air filters. I've read some bad things about the K&N and oil disrupting the MAF. Does anybody recommend other filters, or is the stock paper filter the best route?

I've been using K&N panel filters in my Scoobies for years w/ no problems. In my Forester I went and got a "Green Filter" to give that a try. I really think it's better made than the K&N. I think if you don't go crazy over oiling them you will be OK. Here are some pics and info:
